About Us

Prerana Charitable Trust started out as an outfit by the wives of the senior officers of The Shipping Corporation Of India Ltd. The Trust was formed and registered
in July 1994. Over its long journey of 29 years and under the aegis and superlative guidance of its
illustrious former Presidents and Members, Prerana has grown to become an organisation, that became
sensitive to the requirements of the sick and the ailing, especially cancer and leprosy patients and towards the needs of senior members of our society being taken care of in various homes and also children who
had no home or family to turn to.

Prerana's motto is : Hope and Dignity.

With this motive, it started its philanthropic endeavors in the fields of- health and education. 

Prerana has taken up the daunting task of empowering the underprivileged children especially girls
through education. Help and sponsorship have been extended to children with very special needs and
also help in identifying and providing remedial programs for children with learning disabilities.
